This Art Basel season, citizenM Miami Worldcenter is adding a vibrant new dimension to Miami’s art scene. In a delightful fusion of hospitality and contemporary art, the hotel has collaborated with the celebrated art collective FriendsWithYou to transform two of its rooms into immersive art experiences. Available from December 11, 2023, to January 30, 2024, these bespoke rooms promise guests a stay enveloped in art and whimsy.

Known for their playful and joyful artistic creations, FriendsWithYou, a project by Los Angeles-based artists Samuel Borkson and Arturo Sandoval III, have infused the rooms with their signature vibrant aesthetic. “We want guests to sleep amongst the clouds,” says Robin Chadha, Chief Brand Officer of citizenM. The rooms feature the collective’s iconic “Little Cloud” symbol, adorning walls, pillows, and lamps in a symphony of cheerful colors.

The “Little Cloud,” a symbol of hope and unity, is no stranger to the limelight, having graced the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and various FriendsWithYou animations. Now, it extends its reach to the hospitality sector, creating an environment of joy and connection for the hotel’s guests.

This collaboration is part of citizenM’s broader mission to support and promote the arts. With 32 properties worldwide, the Dutch hotel brand has already commissioned over 310 artworks from 140 artists. For the upcoming Art Basel Miami Beach, the hotel conducted an open call for artists, selecting four to create original pieces for the new citizenM Miami South Beach, set to open in 2024.

Alongside the artistic flair, citizenM Miami Worldcenter continues to impress with its range of amenities. From a 24/7 canteenM to the recently launched Night Swim rooftop pool experience, the hotel ensures guests enjoy both high-tech convenience and artistic charm.

The innovative approach of citizenM, from their unique room designs to their extensive support of the arts, not only enhances the guest experience but also contributes significantly to the local art community. As Art Basel Miami Beach approaches, the hotel stands as a beacon of creativity and hospitality, offering a unique experience where guests can literally sleep in a work of art.
